On the Glow: Vichy Idéalia Skincare Range
We all have those mornings. The ones when we’re already running late, get delayed on the subway, realize halfway there that we forgot our umbrella, and get soaked walking to our destination while wearing the most uncomfortable shoes imaginable. Back in February, I was invited to have breakfast with Vichy to discover the brand new additions to their beloved Idéalia skincare range, and I was having one of those mornings. A tasty treat and a deliciously strong cappuccino later, I felt much better and ready to hear all about Idéalia, the Vichy skincare range that targets the first signs of aging and stress-induced dull complexion to give the skin its glow back.
Vichy Idéalia Night Peeling Care Review
The Vichy Idéalia Radiance Activating Night Peeling Care* ($39.95) is the new star product of the Idéalia skincare range. Formulated with 4% glycolic acid and 5% HEPES, Vichy calls it a ‘prodigious water’ that gently exfoliates the skin while you sleep to reveal a glowing complexion. Like all Vichy products, it’s also infused with Mineralizing Thermal Water, or what I like to call magic for your skin. For a brighter complexion by morning, simply apply with a cotton pad before bed and follow it up with your usual skincare routine.
The Vichy Idéalia Night Peeling Care is suitable for even the most sensitive skin and can be used every night. I’m always cautious when it comes to peeling products because I’ve had many bad experiences, but I’ve been using this Vichy gem for weeks without any allergic reactions. Don’t forget to apply a good sunscreen to your face and neck in the morning when using peeling products!
Vichy Idéalia Radiance Booster Serum Review
The Vichy Idéalia Radiance Booster Serum* ($49.95) is a new and improved take on the original Idéalia serum. The original serum is the only Vichy product I don’t like. The original version of the Idéalia serum is thick, sits on the skin without absorbing, and makes my skin tingle to the point of burning.
Vichy has infused the new formula with antioxidant and liquorice roots extract to boost radiance for all skin types. The improved formula is light, watery, and easily absorbed by the skin so it can be layered with other products and worn under makeup. The fresh floral scent makes it perfect for the morning routine and helps start off the day on a good note. It immediately makes my skin soft and smooth, and there’s no piling even when worn with sunscreen, moisturizer and makeup.
The refreshing gel-like texture will perfect to brighten up the skin on warm days, and I will definitely be keeping the Vichy Idéalia Radiance Booster handy as a first step to my morning skincare routine this summer.
Vichy Idéalia Smoothness & Glow Energizing Cream Review
The Vichy Idéalia Smoothness & Glow Energizing Cream* ($45) contains blueberry extract and fermented black tea extract to revive stressed and tired skin. The cream for normal skin has a light and cooling gel-like texture, and the dry skin formula is slightly thicker and comforting. They both absorb quickly, smell incredible, and have that millennial pink Insta-worthy shade that’s sure to get your heart beating a little faster.
After a few weeks of the Vichy Idéalia skincare routine, my skin is soft, and my pores are less noticeable. I’ve also seen some improvement in the redness around my nose and on my cheeks, though I’m still breaking out regularly. I don’t have any fine lines so I can’t speak to the anti-aging properties of the range, but it’s worth a try just for the soothing floral scent of the Vichy Idéalia skincare products.
