There’s a new beauty destination in town, and it’s one worth writing a whole post about! Last Saturday, Urban Decay opened up a new and shiny freestanding store at the Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, their second flagship store in Canada.
On Friday night, I made my way to the store ahead of their big opening day for a cocktail party. I had a delicious cocktail, swatched all the pristine new testers, and even had a graffiti artist personalize a Naked 3 palette for me.
THE UD EXPERIENCE
The Square One location is Urban Decay’s ‘beauty with an edge’ slogan come to life. The UDSQ1 store is a 1,300 square foot beauty playground, with makeover stations throughout and all the makeup your little heart desires…including exclusive products that you’ll most definitely want to get your hands on.
The store’s decor is bold and feminine with its purple and black accents, beautiful chrome fixtures, mirrored surfaces, and a purple neon sign that reads ‘feminine, dangerous, fun’. Feminine, dangerous, fun….it sums up the UD store experience perfectly.
The Urban Decay team was incredibly generous and sent me home with a bag full of goodies, including a cute tank top and a beautiful, one-of-a-kind Naked 3 palette, which I will show you in an upcoming post. I’ve been wearing Urban Decay Naked Nail Colour in Tease* all weekend, and it’s a muddy brown shade that shouldn’t work but kind of does…You’ll have to wait for the swatches to see what I mean.
It was a lovely night, which ended with a trip back to Toronto in a pimped out Urban Decay party bus. Another life goal achieved.
HOW TO GET TO UDSQ1 FROM TORONTO
You’ll find the Urban Decay store in the south expansion of the Square One Mall in Mississauga. It’s a bit out of the way for those of us who don’t own a car, but the trek is more than worth it to get the full UD experience. And you can take advantage of the huge mall to do a spot of Christmas shopping while you’re there…if you have any money left after hitting up UD, that is.
TTC (about 1h15m from St. George station)
Hop on the subway and make your way west to Islington station. Follow the signs to the bus station and get a MiWay bus to Square One (routes 3, 20, 26, or 76).
GO Transit (about 45 minutes from Union station)
Take the GO bus to Milton, which stops at the Square One/City Centre bus station.
With the festive season in full swing, there’s really no reason not to treat yourself and your beauty-loving loved ones to a new bold Vice lipstick or a classic Naked palette!
