It’s been one of those months, you know. The kind where you grab the nearest makeup items and hope for the best, then end up using the same things every single day out of laziness. But everything is right there, why would I dig through my gigantic stash?
So here it is, my May face. The base is nothing special, to be honest. A little bit of Benefit POREfessional primer, followed by generous amounts of the Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation. I know this foundation is supposed to include primer, but the lasting power is unfortunately not great on me. I bought this because I heard the formula is the same as my beloved Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3-in-1 foundation, but the jury is still out on that one. May was definitely Maybelline heavy. I used the Instant Age Rewind concealer to hide dark circles and blemishes and the Dream Matte powder to set everything before heading out. My favourite mascara at the moment is also by Maybelline, it’s the Lash Sensational. It will eventually get its own post, it’s worth talking about. I already repurchased it twice. It gives my lashes incredible volume and length, and it doesn’t flake at all. Not only have I been using it all month, but in fact I’ve used this mascara pretty much every single day since February. That’s three months! There must be a beauty blogger rule against that, right?
I’m lucky enough to have very low maintenance eyebrows, meaning I can absolutely get away with doing nothing at all, but the Benefit Gimme Brow is a super easy way to up your brow game, so why not? The more I use it, the more I love it.
And on to the real stars of the post. First, the No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush Stick in ‘Classic Rose’. The formula is fantastic – it’s so creamy, it blends out beautifully and it adds a true rosy glow to the cheeks…it’s almost enough to make me forget the cold and wet weather we’ve been having. Finally on special days, I finished the look with a touch of the Yves St-Laurent Volupté Tint-in-Oil in ‘Cherry My Cherie’. Wow, that stuff is incredible. It’s an oil, so it’s hydrating and glossy, but the best part is that it leaves a gorgeous bright pink stain behind that lasts for hours. Expensive? Absolutely. Worth it? YES!
I’ve been super lazy and couldn’t be bothered to look through my stash, so I ended up doing my makeup the same way every single day this month. Now treat yourself to a No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush Stick and one of the Yves St-Laurent Volupté Tint-in-Oil. You’re welcome.
It’s time for a makeup shake-up. What are you loving at the moment? Let me know in the comments!
