I spend the best part of my days reading beauty blogs and magazines, so it’s not often that I receive an email about a brand I know nothing about. When Teeez Cosmetics first got in touch with me, I had a quick scroll through their website to see what the brand was all about and for the first time in ages I felt excited about makeup. With their fun packaging and their bold shades, the products have a definite Sex Pistols vibe to them. There’s something a little bit punk and irreverent about Teeez. And I like it. A lot.
WRITE YOUR OWN RULES
Teeez Cosmetics is a Dutch makeup brand that recently launched in Canada at Hudson’s Bay, and it’s quickly becoming my go-to for bold beauty. Teeez’s vision is that we should write our own beauty rules, let our individuality shine and embrace our imperfections. Yes, the days of ridiculously perfect Instagram makeup are numbered, and I can get on board with that.
I will be trying out a few bits and pieces from Teeez for the next three months, and I could not be more excited to discover the brand. It’s very promising so far. The first box was full of sparkly goodies in neutral shades (woo! fun neutrals!), including the Spectrum of Stars Eyeshadow in Vanilla Sunbeam*, the Style Addict Highlighter in Body Heat*, and the Mysterious Crystal Eyeliner in Rich Amber*.
The Spectrum of Stars eyeshadows ($24) come in a gold round pot, which to be perfectly honest is as impractical as it is gorgeous. The shadows are formulated with Argan Oil, and they’re soft, smooth, pigmented and blendable. Vanilla Sunbeam is a beautiful golden shade that’s perfect to add a bit of dimension to a neutral eye, but it also looks great on it’s own if you’re after a more subtle look.
The Style Addict Highligter in Body Heat ($32) is a cream product packaged in a cute square pot. The highlighter is quite thick, but it’s not sticky and it’s easy to blend with your fingers. Because of its pink tinge, it works really well with my skintone and looks like a natural glow when worn under blush.
The Mysterious Crystal eyeliners ($22) are incredible. They have beautiful metallic finishes and are formulated with pearl particles for maximum shine. They’re very precise, thanks to the included sharpener. They’re also really, really waterproof. They dry in about forty-five seconds, which gives you a bit of time to use the blending sponge to create a smoky eye…but it’s definitely best to work on one eye at a time. Once set, the liner doesn’t budge, even with copious amounts of Bioderma. I got the shade Rich Amber, a beautiful dark brown with a little bit of sparkle.
Teeez delivers great quality products in super fun packaging, and I simply cannot wait to play around with their latest products. I got the February box yesterday, and ooohh the beautiful lipsticks! Stay tuned for a Valentine’s Day-themed Teeez Cosmetics review!
