Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover Shampoo & Conditioner | Review

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover shampoo and conditioner review

The Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover line could not have come at a better time for me. Ever since I went blonde, my hair has been unmanageable, brittle, and dull. I’ve been on the hunt for a new haircare routine to help strengten my hair and protect it from further bleach and heat damage, and the shampoo and conditioner I received at the launch of the new Biolage R.A.W. range fit the bill perfectly.

The Biolage R.A.W. collection promises real, authentic, and wholesome products that are good for your hair and for the environment. It’s an exciting addition to the natural beauty market, with products made of 70% to 90% natural-origin ingredients that are 99% biodegradable, and 100% recycled plastic packaging that looks like it belongs in a super trendy juice bar. The Matrix Biolage R.A.W. range is also free of sulfates, parabens, silicones, and artificial colorants.

With three different families of products available, there’s something for most hair concerns. The Recover line restores shine to sensitized and stressed hair, the Nourish line is formulated to put some life back in dry and dull hair, and the Uplift line is perfect for fine, flat hair that needs volume.

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Uplift shampoo and conditioner

The Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover shampoo* ($25) contains yucca and goji berry, and it smells like a delicious fruit smoothie. It’s a runny shampoo that lathers up incredibly well, especially considering that it’s sulfates-free.

The Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover conditioner* ($25) contains coriander oil and kaolin clay. The scent is a little musky, but it balances out the sweetness of the shampoo nicely. The texture is quite thick, almost like a hair mask. It leaves my hair super soft and easy to comb through, which is nothing short of a miracle since my hair usually is a tangled mess when I get out of the shower.

The Recover line may not be advertised specifically for coloured hair, but I haven’t noticed any difference in my colour so far, and I’ve been using these products for about a month. I still need to use purple shampoo once a week to take out the brassy tones, but that’s always the case, no matter what kind of shampoo or conditioner I use.

Since I started using the Biolage R.A.W. Recover routine, my hair has been more manageable and softer than it has been in years. Of course, no shampoo or conditioner can undo the damage caused by bleach and daily high temperature curling, but I have noticed that my hair is stronger and doesn’t tangle as much.

If you’ve put your hair through a lot recently, the Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover shampoo and conditioner are the key to stronger, softer hair. I cannot recommend these products enough!
