Le Petit Marseillais is now available in Canada
The box waiting for me at the post office looks like it was sent by airmail and the word ‘Bonjour!’ is written in big letters across the packaging. That catches my attention, because I’ve been dreaming of a holiday for the past…oh, three years or so? Inside the box, I find five extra gentle body washes from Le Petit Marseillais, a French body care brand that just recently landed in Canada.
Just in time for the holiday season, Le Petit Marseillais launches its extra soft shower gels and creams on the North American market and transports us to the South of France, one shower at a time. It’s the most affordable travel deal you’ll get all summer.
Le Petit Marseillais is well-known throughout Europe for its wide range of body care products, including body washes, soaps, oils, haircare products, and deodorants. The brand is starting its Canadian adventure with a carefully curated range of products that perfectly represents its Provençal roots.
There are twenty-two extra gentle body washes currently available on the French market, and five of them are now sold in Canadian drugstores, supermarkets, and superstores: White Peach & Nectarine (my fave!), Orange Blossom, Cotton Milk & Poppy, Vanilla Milk, and of course Lavender Honey, made with the ultimate Provençal ingredient.
Pssst! Each Le Petit Marseillais body wash retails for just $4.97 at Walmart. That’s about $745.03 cheaper than the most affordable plane ticket to Europe you will find this summer. Just sayin’.

Le Petit Marseillais White Peach & Nectarine Extra Gentle Shower Gel
The White Peach & Nectarine body wash* somehow smells both sweet and refreshing. It’s the only Le Petit Marseillais body wash with a gel texture currently available in Canada, but I hope to see more options on the shelves soon because it lathers up like a dream – perfect for washing off sweat and sunscreen after a long day in the summer sun.
Le Petit Marseillais Orange Blossom Extra Gentle Shower Crème
The shower crèmes all have a stronger, creamier scent than the shower gel, but the Orange Blossom body wash* is by far the most intensely sweet of them all. It’s a touch too fragranced for me right out of the bottle, but this Le Petit Marseillais body wash leaves the skin smelling lovely after a relaxing shower.
All the crème body washes in this collection have a fairly thin texture that lathers up well and rinses out easily, though I will always pick a gel texture over a creamy body wash myself.
Le Petit Marseillais Cotton Milk & Poppy Extra Gentle Shower Crème
The Cotton Milk & Poppy body wash* is pleasantly smooth and clean, with subtle floral notes. It’s musky, with just a hint of sweetness.
Le Petit Marseillais Vanilla Milk Extra Gentle Shower Crème
The Vanilla Milk shower crème* has a soft vanilla fragrance. If intensely sweet scents are not for you, this is the one Le Petit Marseillais body wash to try.
Le Petit Marseillais Lavender Honey Extra Gentle Shower Crème
The Lavender Honey body wash* is a strange one. It’s not the floral lavender scent I have come to expect from years of testing lavender-scented miracle sleep-inducing products. The only way I can describe the fragrance of this Le Petit Marseillais body wash is…sharp? I don’t hate it, but I can’t see myself reaching for it if anything else if available.
TL;DR?
The Petit Marseillais shower gels and creams smell like summer in Provence. I love their sweet and juicy fragrances that hang in the air after a shower and their pH-neutral formulas that are gentle on the skin, leaving it soft, hydrated, and radiant. I also love the price – for less than $10 a bottle, Le Petit Marseillais lets you experience the best of the South of France, without the enormous price tag or the jet lag.
