Best of eBay: World Map Watch

World Map Watch, similar here

Confession time: My idea of a good Friday night is staying home in my pjs, ordering pizza and buying really cheap accessories on eBay, with Netflix on in the background. It means that every few weeks, I receive a mystery package containing something I have absolutely no recollection of buying. It’s like a little surprise every time. I thought I’d share my picks of the best accessories on eBay as I go. My eBay rules: keep it under $4, free shipping always.

This watch is a real bargain at just over $2.50. I’ve seen a similar one for about $50 on Asos. It comes with a battery and it seems to be keeping the time just fine, although it’s obviously not the best quality and I wouldn’t necessarily rely on it if I had somewhere important to be. There is no way a $2.50 watch can compare to a pricey timepiece, but it looks really nice and it’s fun. I just really, really wanted a quirky world map watch, but I didn’t want to spend any money on it. One day, I’ll own a truly beautiful, classic, expensive watch…One day in the distant future, when I’m rich (ah!). To be honest, I’m glued to my phone 24/7, so keeping an eye on the time really isn’t the point of this purchase. For me, it’s purely an accessory.

You can see from the pictures that the faux-leather is already wrinkly after a couple of days and that the buckle is flimsy at best. It’s definitely a disposable item. I love the size and the thickness of the face though. It’s chunky, but not big enough to be downright manly.

I love the double strap detail too, it adds a little something.

What do you think? Do you buy accessories on eBay?
