Balaying Into Fall With A New Haircut & Colour

I’m writing this wrapped up in three warm blankets like a human burrito and I’m still a little bit cold, a sure sign that Fall is finally here to stay. Let me tell you – I could not be happier to take my jackets, scarves, and hats out of storage.

I wrote about this before, but whenever the weather turns cold, I get a strong urge to clean my messy desk, get my life in order and have a bit of a fresh start to the academic year. So last week, I booked myself a haircut and colour appointment.

I woke up one day and just couldn’t deal with my long, limp and tangly hair a second longer. After googling a ton of hair salons in Toronto, I decided to book my appointment with Alysha at Parlour Salon on Ossington. As soon as I sat down in Alysha’s chair, she asked me how long it had been since my last haircut. She knew. The short answer to that question is two years. It had been TWO YEARS! I feel gross and ashamed just writing it down.

After Alysha cut what seemed at the time like most of my hair off and somehow managed to

make it look healthy and amazing, she lightened my hair about two tones with a balayage. I love the ombre look on me. My hair apparently takes to bleach incredibly well, and I was feeling pretty smug when she called her colleagues over to take a look at my newly blonde hair.

My new look didn’t come cheap at about $300, but I’m so pleased with the results. If you’re looking for a great ombre in Toronto, I cannot recommend Alysha enough! In just three hours, she completely transformed my hair. It’s so much easier to style now!
